The first nautical school on Lake Maggiore, founded in 1965 with over 50 years of history, now renewed to prepare candidates for the new multiple-choice exams established by the ministry.
Please note: Both the course and the exam are conducted entirely in Italian. Additionally, only residents of the province of Varese (or neighboring provinces) are eligible to obtain the boating license.
The theoretical part consists of approximately 15 evening lessons, held twice a week. Enrollment includes the educational kit (boating license manual, home practice app, and access to online content) and the charting kit (nautical chart 5D, triangles, and compass).
The course is structured to provide comprehensive and flexible preparation. Video lessons are always available online, allowing students to study at their own pace. Additionally, live video lessons are held twice a week with an instructor, offering direct interaction and real-time clarification.
Charting lessons and practical training take place at our facility. For preparation for the practical exam, 4-6 trainings are scheduled.
The lessons cover all exam topics: ship theory, internal combustion engines, navigation safety, maneuvers, COLREGs (lights, maritime signaling), meteorology, navigation, and recreational boating regulations.
Students can practice for the exam simulation at home using a PC, tablet, or smartphone with the dedicated app.
If the first exam attempt is unsuccessful, within six months of initial enrollment, the school allows the candidate to retake the exam at no additional cost.
